In Honduras, reading remains a challenge, especially in rural communities with limited access to educational resources. In a complex social context, as highlighted in an RFI (Radio France International) report, education becomes a key tool for creating opportunities.

To address this reality, Honduras Rising has launched “Don Sapo’s Treasure,” an educational program consisting of boxes filled with books and teaching materials designed to encourage reading in a dynamic and engaging way in the classroom.

At the rural school of Calichito, teacher Ester Lemus has implemented the tool with great dedication, helping her students not only improve their reading comprehension but also develop a genuine interest in books.

The reading boxes have transformed the classroom into a participatory and creative space, demonstrating that with the right tools, it is possible to create a positive impact on education.
